Step 1

Create the two discs

Create the two discs for the game. One disc contains a couple of emojis, each of them with a specific background color. Then, create a second disc with the word of the emoji in the same specific colour. For example: if the smiling emoji is in orange, write the word 'happy' in orange on the second disc.

Good job!

A step-by-step guide to play the game

1

Gather a group of players in front of the discs, and ask one of them how they feel today. Important: this game is played when you're confronted with a language barrier. The player might put the disc - for example - on the smiling emoji with the orange background colour.

2

Then, turn to the second disc and ask the player to look for the same colour. On the second disc in the same colour contains the word 'happy'. This way, the players learn more words in a specific language.

3

You can also ask other questions via the discs and add other words to it as well.

This game was developed during a StreetwiZe open leadership programme, in collaboration with the Red Cross centre for asylum seekers in Pelt.
