Step 1

Create a world map puzzle

Draw a world map on a big piece of paper and cut it into pieces by continent, so you get a puzzle of the world map.

Step 2

Collect some drawings or photos of animals

Draw a couple of animals on papers to be able to attach them to the world map.

A step-by-step guide to play the game

The game contains three different steps. First, put all the pieces of the puzzle on the table and ask all the player to try to make the puzzle of the world map.

Then, ask a player to pick an animal and put it on the country or continent where this animal lives.

As a third step, ask the children to put a bottle cap or paper on one of the characters of the Guess Who panel (see attachment). Then, ask the same question: what do you think is the country of origin of this character? The player puts a bottle cap or paper on the specific country/continent.

Extra game information

This game was developed during an Open StreetwiZe leadership programme, in collaboration with the Red Cross centre for asylum seekers in Pelt.

Variations

During the expedition, the team drew a pair of shoes on the blackboard and attached shoe laces to the board. This way the children can practice how to tie your shoes so they never trip when they walk accros the world.
