Everything you need to play this game

  • Board (European map) - magnetic
  • Hourglass or stopwatch (timer)
  • Chalk (to draw)
  • Bottle cap (as a pawn)
  • Iron wire (6 small basketball goals)
  • Material to make a small net (6)
  • Small ball (basketball)
  • Cardboard to make question cards

A step-by-step guide to play the game

1

Throw a ball through the basketball hoops attached to the board. Goals have a number from 1 - 6 and serve as a kind of dice system. If you don't have the time to make the basketball hoops, you can also use a regular dice.

A player can try 3 times. If after 3 times the ball was not put in the net of the basketball hoop, the player must skip a turn. The objective of the game is to get from start to finish as quickly as possible.

2

On every square on the road through Europe you will find an icon that indicates the theme of the question.

These can be the following:

  • Act out
  • Pictionary (drawing)
  • General facts (answer the question)
  • Which word does not fit
  • Festivities (questions)
  • Extra: other categories can be chosen such as music, monuments, etc...
3

When an answer is guessed or a task is completed successfully, the player who gave the correct answer can move 1 space forward. If the task is drawing and an answer is guessed correctly, both the player who gave the correct answer and the illustrator can move 2 spaces forward.

Extra game information

The first number that is thrown is the number of steps a player may advance. It is therefore not accumulative if the ball passes through several rings.

A fun tour around Europe, during which players need to complete different tasks to learn more about the cultures and the main characteristics of the countries! However, social workers will still have a lot of work in preparing the game board and the different tasks that need to be completed for each square. Few similar examples already exist on the StreetSmart Play platform, but definitely worth a try!
