Animal Forms
Animal Forms is a fun, movement-based game that combines creativity, teamwork, and learning.

- Bottle caps
- A spinning wheel with animal images (each animal includes a visible shape inside it — e.g., triangle, circle, infinity sign)
- A piece of chalk (to mark progress on the path)
- A timer (optional)
- 1 square or rectangular piece of sturdy cardboard
- 1 circular cardboard or wooden disc
- 1 metal or plastic pin / screw / split pin
- 1 arrow made from cardboard or plastic
- Colored pencils or markers
- Sticky notes or small paper squares with drawings (animals, shapes, etc.)
- Optional: ruler, compass, glue, scissors, hole punch

Stap 1
Spinning Wheel - the base
Use a piece of strong cardboard or a wooden board as the background. You can color it or divide it into equal colored sections using pencils or crayons for decoration.

Spinning Wheel - spinner
Cut out a large circle (around 20–25 cm diameter) from cardboard or use a pre-cut wooden disc.
Decorate it with 6–10 equal sections using colored pencils or markers. You can draw or paste images of animals, shapes, or themes in each section. Carefully make a small hole in the center of both the base and the circular wheel using a pencil or small nail. The hole should be just big enough for your pin, screw, or split pin to go through.

Stick small paper squares or Post-its around the edge of the wheel — each showing a drawing (like in your photo: lion, elephant, cat, snail, etc.). These can represent animals, shapes, or challenges for the players.

Draw the hopscotch (the parkour) on the ground using chalk. Number the squares from start to finish (for example 1 to 10). You can also add a few surprise squares — for example, “Go forward to 7” or “Go back to 5.”

Divide the children into two teams. Each team will try to reach the finish line first.

The first team throws a bottle cap to try to land it in square 1, 2, or 3. The number where it lands determines how many steps they can move forward if they complete the next challenge. They can try up to three times, and on the third try they may come a bit closer.

Spin the wheel with the animals and shapes. The arrow will stop at one picture, showing both an animal and a geometric shape.

Depending on the age of the players, the team either recreates the shape or imitates the animal together using their bodies. They have one minute to complete it. The goal is to be creative and stay connected as a team.

If the team completes the challenge successfully, they move forward the number of squares shown by their bottle cap throw. Mark their progress on the hopscotch with chalk.

Then it’s the next team’s turn. The teams keep playing until one reaches the final square — but be careful! Some squares include surprises (move forward, move backward, or lose a turn).

When a team reaches the finish line, celebrate together with a big round of applause or a victory dance!
Extra informatie over het spel
Some squares include special rules:
- 🎉 If you land on 4 → move forward to 7
- ⚠️ If you land on 8 → move back to 5
This game concept was developed during an open StreetwiZe leadership expedition in a refugee center in Pelt, Belgium.
