Stap 1

Prepare sliding panel
  • Divide panel into 6 horizontal rows.
  • Attach sliding doors/cards for each row so they can move horizontally.

Stap 2

Design handshake combinations

Assign handshakes to cards or symbols (e.g., high five, fist bump, wave, snap).

Color-code rows:

  • Green (bottom 2 rows): simple handshakes
  • Orange (middle 2 rows): medium complexity
  • Red (top 2 rows): complex handshakes

Pair the children in groups of 2.

Explain that each pair must perform the handshake combinations as shown on the panel.

Choose a playing option:

  • Simultaneous: All pairs perform handshakes at the same time.
  • Turns & Watch: Pairs take turns while others observe.
  • Competition: Pairs take turns; if a pair makes an incorrect handshake, they are excluded. Continue until one winning pair remains.

Facilitator can guide or demonstrate handshakes if needed.

Repeat combinations for multiple rounds to practice memory and coordination.

Levels of Complexity

  • Green (lower 2 rows): simple handshakes
  • Orange (middle 2 rows): medium complexity handshakes
  • Red (top 2 rows): complex handshakes


  • Can be played indoors or outdoors.
  • Adjust difficulty by using fewer or more rows.
  • Encourage children to cheer for each other to promote social skills.
  • Add new handshake moves to keep the game fresh and engaging.
  • Works well for groups of 4–20 children.


Variaties

  • Memory Challenge: Show the combination for 5 seconds, then hide panel and ask pairs to perform from memory.
  • Speed Round: Pairs perform sequences as quickly as possible; fastest correct pair wins.
  • Mirror Mode: One child leads, and the partner mirrors the moves.
  • Team Relay: Pairs complete sequences and tag the next pair to continue.
  • Custom Combinations: Children create their own handshakes for the panel.
