A step-by-step guide to play the game

Mark a start and finish line for the bridge. One player starts at the beginning, while the rest form a human bridge on hands and knees, side by side.

The player walks across the bridge. Two helpers walk alongside, offering balance and encouragement.

After having reached the finish line, the player joins the bridge. Another player takes a turn.

The game ends when everyone has had a turn to reach the finish line.

This game is part of "The Children's Parliament: Access to Justice - International Day for Street Children 2026" activity, and helps explore the pillar of Support through play. 

This activity turns support into a physical experience. It shows how cooperation, trust, and encouragement help individuals overcome challenges and reach a shared goal.

To spark a reflection and deepen the conversation, at the end of the game you can ask the players questions like:

  • How did it feel to be supported?
  • How did it feel to work together towards a goal?
  • What makes good teamwork? 

Variations

Support styles
  • Before crossing, the player can share what kind of support they want and the rest of the group adapts. For example: cheering, encouragement, more physical support, silence.
  • Switch support styles between rounds. For example: play one round with more verbal support, and the next round in silence with more physical support.
  • At the end of each round, ask the players what kind of support they found more or less useful. Discuss the different perspectives.
