Se alege un conducator de joc care se va aseza cu fata la un perete.
In spatele sau, restul jucatorilor se aliniaza la o distanta marcata printr-o linie .

Cu fata la perete, conducatorul de joc rosteste, mai repede sau mai lent : "123 la perete,stai!"
La sfarsitul careia se intoarce,de obicei repede spre multimea din spatele sau.

Jucatorii trebuie sa se apropie cat mai mult de conducator cat timp el e cu fata la perete.In momentul in care el se intoarce cu fata catre jucatori,ei trebuie sa ramana nemiscati.Orice jucator surprins in miscare, e trimis inapoi la linia de pornire.
