Étape 1

Draw six columns on the game board

Draw six columns of six windows on a large carton board. Every column will represent a specific category. Add or draw pictures of relevant elements on all the different windows (see list attached).

Étape 2

Cover the windows with post-its

Cover all the windows with post-its. Alternatively, you can also use the sliding door system of the mobile school as a template and cover the windows with the sliding door system.

Un guide étape par étape pour jouer le jeu

Gather a group of players in front of the panel. Ask different players to open one door of every column. You will now have six open doors.

Ask the players to create a story which contains the six elements shown in the open doors.

Share the story to the other group of players.

Then, reflect on your own family situation. Do you recognise the different elements/characteristics? What are the similarities/differences in your situation/country?

Close the door and repeat this exercise until all players had the opportunity to create a story.

Feel free to fill in the columns in other ways if you want! However, the designers gave some great suggestions, which will allow you to talk and reflect on the importance of family and the values linked to it. In no time, you'll be able to make this game, and the game is easy to understand and fun to play. Make sure to encourage the creativity of the players, and you will definitely have an impactful activity with this one!

I love the idea to reflect on family values, hobbies, and things to do together because every family is different and we can learn from each other. An activity to play with kids, youth and adults. It works for everyone!

Great activity where players use their own creativity to create a short story. As a game leader you have the freedom to fill in the columns with items that you would like to deal with during the game. During the second phase, where the players share the story with each other, connectedness is created. The game stimulates a natural conversation between the participants about their personal family situation. Fun game, with little preparation.
