Bricolage

Étape 1

Make the spinning memory board

Take a carton board and add 16 different images in a circle. Then, cut out another carton circle, and make a small window so you can see the original carton board. Attach the disc with a split pin so you can rotate. Through the window, you'll now see one image at a time.

Étape 2

Make the memory board

Take a carton board and make 16 different windows in a grid of 4 by 4. Make sure the images are still covered. All images should have a clear link with one of the images on the rotation disc. Colour the different windows to make the game more visually attractive.

Bon travail!

Un guide étape par étape pour jouer le jeu

1

Divide the group in two different teams.

2

Then, ask one of the groups to spin the wheel. The window will land on one of the images of the rotation disc: for example, a pot of honey.

3

The teams will then take turns to find the linked image on the memory board. In this case, the bee. If a team finds the image, they will score one point.

4

Continue the process until all 16 images on the disc are linked to the images on the board. The team with the most points wins the competition!

The Spinning Memory methodology is a great way to learn children to associate different images with each other. A huge plus is the fact you can use this methodology for many different topics, depending on your target group! The competition element is a nice feature to entertain the group of players. Lots of fun guaranteed!

What a fun variation on the classic memory game. The players look for the right association, this can be done individually (on time), in duo or group. For the very young, I would recommend using identical prints so that they have to look for the same. The use of the spinning board provides an active element, which makes the players extra involved.
