Rotation disc

Make it yourself

Step 1

Print the rotation disc

Print the rotation disc template attached. Make sure it is printed in full size, or it is scaled the same way as the panel you will use it with.

Step 2

Cut out the rotation disc and make holes

Cut out the red disc and cut or pinch out the white holes so that answers will be visible through the holes of the rotation disc.

Step 3

Attach the rotation disc to the panel

Attach the disc to a panel with a split pin. Make sure the side with the arrow is on top, so the arrow is visible. You can now see all possible answers in the yellow circles while spinning the rotation disc!

A step-by-step guide to play the game

Attach panels GAME A1a and GAME A1b next to each other on one side of the mobile school. Do the same with panels GAME A2a and GAME A2b on the other side of the mobile school.

One player spins the rotation disc to point out a butterfly or a boat.

The other players try to find the exact same butterfly or boat on the matching square panel as quickly as possible.

The player who finds the exact same figure first, gets a point and is the next one to spin the rotation disc.

The first player with five points, wins the game.

Variations

Draw: draw one of the boats/butterflies on the blackboard next to the panel. The players try to point out the intended figure as soon as possible.
Describe: one player describes one of the butterflies or boats on the small square panel. The other players try to point out the intended figure as soon as possible.
Relay game: make two lines of two teams of players a couple of meters away from the panels. Spin the disc. The first two players in line run to the panels and look for the corresponding figure as soon as possible. When the figure is found, they run back to their team. Repeat and keep track of the score per team. When all players played one or two turns, the game ends and the team with the most points wins the game.
