Everything you need to play this game

A step-by-step guide to play the game

1

The player chooses one number of the numbers to start with in a particular colour (e.g. red=5).

2

He completes the first operation (e.g. 5 - 1 = 4).

3

Afterwards, he uses this result to continue with the next operation (e.g. 4 + 3 = 7).

4

He continues until he reaches "first stop" in the middle of the snake. The player checks if the result is correct (e.g. corresponding colour, red = 17). If the result is wrong, he must recalculate the previous exercises.

5

He now continues until the finish and checks his final answer again (e.g. red = 4).

6

Repeat with the other colours/series.

Variations

Choose different starting numbers. The player uses these numbers to fill out the calculation snake. When reaching the tail of the snake, he writes down the final result on the blackboard. Check his answer.

Specific learning objectives

  • Ability to complete additions and subtractions independently.
  • Ability to concentrate and focus on making new operations based on results of earlier made operations.
