A step-by-step guide to play the game

1

We draw coloured lines on the pavement (or we put colourful strings or clothes on the floor, making lines). We give the lines names associated with their colours, e.g. blue is Sky Lane, white is Snowy Street, etc.

2

Everyone is standing on one of the ropes. The leader loudly calls to which line the players should run. He says, for example, everyone runs to Sunny Street (yellow line) ... Whoever arrives the latest, is out of the game. This player can cheer on the rest or can also replace the leader.

Extra game information

The winner is last participant.

Variations

  • You can give the streets more abstract names.
  • You can put different things next to each one of the ropes. The teacher says the names of the subjects in a different language. Participants are learning new words, e.g. in English.
