Business Builders - Start your own Juice Stand

Each player goes through a full business cycle of nine steps. The goal: show entrepreneurial skills by collecting not only as much money as possible, but also obtain stars that depict smart entrepreneurial choices.

Start in the middle of the circle. Pick a fun name for your juice stand. 

Step 1: Business Idea – choose a fruit for your stand: orange, watermelon, pineapple, mango, lemon, strawberry, or invent your own. 

Step 2: Start Money – roll the die to see how much starting capital you have. Write it down on a board or piece of paper to keep track of your score. Keep track of both your money and stars you earn along the way. 

Step 3: Get Ready – decide which items you’ll buy to start your stand. Spend wisely as you can also obtain stars by making quality entrepreneurial choices! (Note: choosing a fruit in step 1 does not mean you own it yet — you’ll still need to buy fruit to get started.) 

Before moving to the survival phase, each player earns 30 coins to celebrate their first sales. 

Step 4: Good or Bad Luck – roll the die to see what happens: sunshine, bad weather, a happy customer… or even a thief! 

Step 5: Invest – choose whether to make an investment to grow your stand. 

Step 6: Profit & Loss – roll the die again to see if your investment pays off. You could double or triple your money you invested in the previous step — or it does not generate any additional profits at all! 

Before moving to the growth phase, remind players: taking breaks is also a crucial part of being an entrepreneur. 

Step 7: Market Demand – count your stars to see how much additional sales you have. More stars = bigger audience and higher demand, and thus better sales. 

Step 8: Business Evaluation – compare money and stars. Who earned the most? Who showed the strongest entrepreneurial skills? Did anyone find a good balance? 

Step 9: Future – decide what’s next: expand (+1), cooperate, sell, or keep running your stand (=).
