A step-by-step guide to play the game

Introduce the different knots displayed on the game board. The knots are arranged from easier to more difficult levels. Each column contains the name of the knot, a finished example and visual instructions.

Players begin with the easiest knot. Using the visual instructions, they try to recreate the knot with the rope provided.

Once the knot matches the example shown on the board, the player may move on to the next challenge.

After successfully tying a knot, players identify which picture best represents the real-life use of that knot.

For example:

A bow knot matches a pair of shoes.
Other knots can be matched with activities, tools or situations where they are commonly used.

Players continue working through the increasingly challenging knots until they have completed all levels.

Invite participants to share:

Which knot was the easiest?
Which knot was the most difficult?
Where could these knots be useful in daily life?
How did they learn a new technique?

Extra game information

The game develops both cognitive and manual skills. Participants are encouraged to observe carefully, follow visual instructions and improve through repetition.

Older or more experienced participants can help younger players learn the different knots. This creates opportunities for cooperation and mentoring within mixed-age groups.

Variations

Team race

Create two identical knot stations and let teams compete to complete the same sequence of knots first.

Play in pairs

Participants work in duos and help each other complete every knot.

Beat the clock

Use a timer and challenge players to complete as many knots as possible within a set time.

Blind challenge

Once participants have mastered a knot, invite them to try tying it with their eyes closed.
