Make it yourself

Step 1

Create a square game board

Create a square game board by cutting a piece of cardboard.

Step 2

Design the game board
  1. Divide the square in four quadrants.
  2. Write "Reuse" on top of the upper left quadrant.
  3. Write "Recycle" on top of the upper right quadrant.
  4. Write "Risk" below the bottom left quadrant.
  5. Write "Prevent" below the bottom right quadrant.
  6. Draw different objects on the game board, spread out over the different quadrants. Make sure you draw objects that can be recycled, reused, that can pose a risk to the environment or that are related to the prevention of environmental pollution. Examples: a glass bottle, a can, toilet paper, etc.

Step 3

Create an arrow

Cut out an arrow from the piece of cardboard.

Step 4

Make it spin!

Punch a hole in the arrow and in the middle of the game board, using a pair of scissors. Attach the arrow to the game board with the split pin and make sure it can spin well.

Good job!

A step-by-step guide to play the game

Player 1 spins the arrow two times: once for an object and once for an action (reuse, recycle, prevent or risk).

Player 1 formulates a hypothesis about how the object & the action can be connected.

Example: Plastic cup & reusable: You can reuse plastic cups by making lamps out of them.

Player 2 now spins the arrow two times etc.

To finalise the game, the players can discuss what they already do in everyday life & what they still can do to take care of the environment.
