Paso 1

Board 1: type of music
  • Draw a large circle on the cardboard.
  • Divide it in 5 parts and assign a sound to each part/colour.
  • Write numbers around the circle.
  • Cut an arrow from the cardboard.
  • Put a split pin in the middle of the circle through the cardboard.

Paso 2

Board 2: rhythm
  • Draw squares next to each other and fill them with a colour according to the colours on the first board.
  • Leave some lines empty as well.

Bring the kids together and start rehearsing the colours and the associated instruments. Just spin the wheel!

Divide the kids into groups and assign a colour.

Spin the wheel again, now only the group assigned with that colour can make a sound. Repeat this step a few times.

Now try the predefined sequence. Show the coloured placards in the right order so the groups make the right sound at the right time.

Try the second predefined sequence.

Make your own sequence using the colour wheel. Have a kid spin the wheel and write down the colours on the chalkboard or on a piece of paper.

Información extra del juego

This game consists of two different game boards. The first one is a circle divided into five colours with indications/ pictures of two sticks, a bottle filled with stones, clapping hands, stabbing feet and an image of singing a song. The second game board indicates the rhythm of the song.

Variaciones

  • You can change the name of the game (it is the name of the place where you are).
  • Depending on the group size, the ages of the kids and their cognitive level, you can use the second predefined sequence not in a layered approach but as ten steps in a row.
  • When there aren’t enough kids, you can play the game with the whole group together.
  • Let the kids think of or bring new instruments.
  • You can decide to do every sound 5 or 7 times. You can also assign a different number to each colour.
