Step 1

Game board

Base: Take a large poster board or cardboard.

Left-hand side: List concrete skills (with icons) children can select:

  • Caring
  • Languages
  • Math
  • Physical strength
  • Being social
  • Dancing
  • Singing


Path to Mountain of Challenge:

  • Draw a winding path leading from each skill to question marks — each question mark represents a mini-challenge or puzzle.


Right-hand side: Illustrate future professions corresponding to each skill (doctor, public speaker, scientist, athlete, teacher, artist, singer/songwriter).

A step-by-step guide to play the game

Each child starts by selecting a skill on the left-hand side of the panel (e.g., “Caring”).

Follow the path to a question mark on the Mountain of Challenge.

Pick 1–2 activities from the activity cards for the chosen skill.


Examples for each skill:

Caring → Doctor

  • Give 3 people a hug
  • Measure your heartbeat
  • Carry somebody on your back
  • Check your friend’s eyes
  • Jump on one leg and use your arms


Languages → Public Speaker

  • Say a rhyme
  • Give 5 words starting with “B”
  • Say “A” for 30 seconds
  • Speak something in English
  • Use a very high or low voice


Math → Scientist

  • Solve 9+9+9
  • Beat me in 3x3 OXO
  • Stack 3 stones by size
  • Draw a tree in autumn
  • Make a paper plane

Physical Strength → Athlete

  • Show your biceps
  • Do 5 push-ups
  • Stand on one leg with eyes closed
  • Lift a friend
  • Run to a building and back quickly
  • Jump like a frog


Being Social → Teacher

  • Show your friends / write their names on the board
  • Tell the names of your 3 best friends
  • Shake hands with 5 people
  • Do a hand-clapping game
  • Learn a phrase in Romanian
  • Recite the alphabet together


Dancing → Artist

  • Do your favorite dance
  • Play air guitar
  • Do the robot dance
  • Jump 20 times
  • Take a deep bow on stage
  • Dance with a friend

Singing → Singer/Songwriter

  • Sing two lines in Romanian
  • Say “A” for 30 seconds
  • Sing do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do
  • Sing your favorite song
  • Sing into a makeshift microphone
  • Roar like a lion

When the child completes the challenge, move along the path to the corresponding profession.

Celebrate the achievement with a formal greeting and title (e.g., “Congratulations, Dr. Jones” or “Miss Artist”) and applause from the group.

Children can explore multiple skills and professions, completing activities along the path to build confidence, curiosity, and ambition.

Extra game information

This game concept was developed during a StreetwiZe leadership expedition with BARCO in Iasi, Romania, with our local partner Salvati Copiii.

Variations

  • Solo play: Children explore skills individually at their own pace
  • Team version: Children can work together to complete challenges
  • Adjust difficulty: Modify puzzles or actions for age and ability
  • Creative panel: Add drawing or storytelling activities along the path
